Jabber clients will connect to Jabber servers, and if the "recipient" is
actually an IRC/ICQ/etc user the Jabber server will forward it on to the
correct "transport" for that type of service, which will deliver it
correctly and forward on any replies.

It may sound a bit funny/awkward, but it ends up creating a really
powerful messaging platform with neutral simple clients.  I can't wait to
see it in full operation :)
